Ennis was founded in 1872 and the Moore Home is a majestic Neoclassical Revival style home with almost 7,000 square feet built in 1905 by Confederate Army Capt. H.T. Moore and his wife Malinda Jane Anderson Farrar Moore. The current owners, Sam and Joanne Ventura meticulously renovated the home while preserving its rich historic beauty.
You can enjoy local events including the beauty of the annual Bluebonnet Festival & Trails in April, the National Polka Festival on Memorial Day weekend celebrating Czech culture and traditions. You can enjoy the ultimate in drag racing at the NHRA Fall Nationals events at the Texas Motorplex in October. The Ennis Fall Festival is also in October, and in December the Historic Town Square offers a block party and with a display of holiday lights and family friendly entertainment and activities for all. There’s lots to see and do locally in close proximity to the DFW Metroplex area.
